Silica cliffs along Route 66 west of St Louis. There is a popular vintage photograph taken from a overlook at the top but I could find no sign of a
way to get up there. At this point, 66 is sandwiched between the cliffs and the railroad. Further west, there are mine shafts cut into the cliffs
where the silica was mined commercially. ('07)
